Upper Arlington Optimists
Exemplary Character Scholarship
The Upper Arlington chapter of Optimists International is offering a scholarship of up to $2,000 to a UA high school student of exemplary character. This is the scholarship’s inaugural year.
The UA Optimists’ exemplary character scholarship is intended to recognize a UA high school student who has served as a model for other youth in overcoming an obstacle, meeting a challenge, standing up for a peer, or
through selfless service to another individual, organization or cause. This scholarship is not intended to reward athletic or academic achievement, but instead focuses on character. The recipient should demonstrate positive character traits such as optimism, perseverance, self-confidence, and humility in their attitudes and actions.
Anyone can nominate a student. The nomination deadline for 2012 is April 1. More information and the nomination form is available from this website or call Ove Fladberg at 817.845.8688
